Regularly update blood stock position in website

 Mangaluru: Karnataka State Drugs Controller Raghurama Bhandary appealed all the blood bank officers in the State to regularly update the blood stock position in their respective blood banks so that any person who is in need of blood can easily check the availability of blood in any part of the State.

Addressing all the blood bank officers in the State through a video conference on Saturday, organised jointly by Drugs Control department, Karnataka Health System Development and Reform Project (KHSDRP), Health and Family Welfare department, Karnataka State Aids Prevention Society (KSAPS) and Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council (KSBTC), Bhandary said that regular updating of the blood stock position can save maternal deaths.

Assistant Drugs Controller K?V?Nagaraj, DAPCU?Officer Dr Kishore Kumar and DHO?Dr Ramakrishna and blood bank officials of all the 13 blood banks in Dakshina Kannada district take part in the video conference organised by the Drugs Control Department and KSAPS among others to review the status of blood banks / blood storage centres in the State, in DK?ZP?office in Mangaluru on Saturday.

Instructing the officials concerned to check that the website – www.drugs.kar.nic.in – is regularly updated, he also asked Assistant Drugs Controllers and other officers concerned to monitor the same and also to take steps if there was any problem in updating the same.

In Dakshina Kannada district, there are 13 blood banks and five blood storage centres and at least one person from each blood bank took part in the video conference. In Dakshina Kannada district, the officials took part in the video conference in ZP?office where Assistant Drugs Controllers K?V?Nagaraj and Shankar Nayak, DAPCU?Officer Dr Kishore Kumar, DHO Dr Ramakrishna and Drugs Inspector Ashalatha among others were present.
